Professor Fehily is a specialist hip surgeon with a particular focus on soft tissue problems in young athletes (from amateurs to top level professionals) and complex hip reconstruction for older patients. He is highly experienced in arthroscopy (keyhole procedures) and offers a full pathway, from surgery to rehabilitation. Professor Fehily is involved in clinical research and in training other surgeons in hip arthroscopy.
He is also an integral part of the Hip and Groin Clinic at The Manchester Institute of Health & Performance which provides a multi-disciplinary approach to sports people and athletes. This unique service offers patients the opportunity to see a team of experts during the same assessment, a holistic approach that allows them to pinpoint the diagnosis whether it is one specific problem or, commonly, two or more factors combined. This means that conditions can then be treated all at the same time, giving the patient a better chance of full recovery and a faster return to their sport.
