Dr Rogers performs a dual role at The Manchester Institute of Health & Performance (MIHP); Medical Director and Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine. He also has a NHS practice at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He is Chief Medical Officer for British Triathlon and Visiting Professor in Sport & Exercise Medicine at Manchester Metropolitan University.
John is passionate about helping people of all ages and abilities to achieve their sporting, exercise and physical activity goals. His work involves treating people with musculoskeletal injuries and medical problems related to sport, exercise and physical activity.
He has had a love for sport and exercise since childhood. He competed for Sale Harriers Manchester as a middle distance runner and won Northern Ireland senior titles at 800 and 1500m during this time. He has two young children and enjoys running, cycling and mountain climbing.
His previous positions include; Institute Medical Officer to British Athletics, Consultant SEM Physician to Defence Military Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court. CMO for Team GB at Youth Olympic Games, Team Doctor for British Paralympic Athletics Team, Sports Physican at ORRECO and GP Partner at Brooklands Medical Practice.
