Dr Andrew Dunn qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1998, completed radiology training in 2005, and completed a one year fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging from the University of Toronto in 2006. Andrew is a consultant and honorary clinical lecturer at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Andrew has a specialist interesting in the imaging of sports injury, and provides imaging services to many Premier League and Championship football clubs, covering the North of England and London. Andrew also provides imaging to many Super League Rugby Clubs and other elite sports institutions throughout the Northwest region. Andrew was a member of the MSK imaging team for the London 2012 Olympic Games, working in the athletes village polyclinic.
Andrew maintains an active role in education, teaching on the Mersey School of Radiology and the Northern Deanery Fellowship of Sports and Exercise Medicine training programme. Andrew has written book chapters on sports injury and upper limb imaging and published widely in imaging and sports medicine literature. Andrew’s current research interests are anatomy, injury patterns and architectural effects of training on muscle and tendon, and image guided management of tendonopathy.
Dr.Dunn’s private practice covers the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance, HCA The Wilmslow Hospital, Spire Liverpool and Manchester Hospitals, and Fortius Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic in London.
