Dr Vyas jointly runs the Elite Breathlessness Clinic at The Manchester Institute of Health & Performance.
Aashish’s NHS practice is based at Lancashire Teaching Hospital Trust where he is also a Honorary Lecturer. He leads the Trust’s Complex Breathlessness Service, which is a national referral centre for patients’ with severe unknown causes of breathlessness. The service ideology is to understand the cause of the patient’s breathlessness by using cutting edge techniques and scientific evidence base, not only to diagnose but also to treat the causes of breathlessness.
He also heads the Severe Asthma Service for Lancashire and South Cumbria, which is part of the North West Severe Asthma Network, serving a population of 12 million.
He has a national profile and sits on the British Thoracic Societies Specialty Advisory Group for Asthma and is Chairing the National Clinical Statement on Complex breathlessness Services. His team have published in peer reviewed international medical journals and presented at respiratory conferences around the world. Currently, he is involved in the development of a national complex breathlessness network and supporting the education and development of centres throughout the UK.
